(Idk why they are complaining about this photo being a DD, the next DD is algo a nude, I didn't saw any comments about "ew" or anything like that just because it is a drawing, so...we are praising the imitation but not the true nature of it?)
All of those would be judged by their own peers in their own mediums.
As a model, what is she doing thats special? What emotion is she portraying in the photograph? Clearly if this got a DD based on the model's performance it should jump out of the photo. Check out some of the VS models, they can fix you with just their eyes and freeze you, no special lighting, pose or nudity needed.
I'm making judgments on a gallery? I'm making judgments on a teenager biased curation. Nudity can be beautiful and artsy, i follow some artists that strive for it. This isn't it, This isn't what i would like the community i'm part of to highlight and promote.
I'll give you two artists to check out so you can get a better understanding of what i would strive for: [link] & [link]
boobs, that's why. DD's at that! haha. Irony Get it? /shot JK LOL Stock photos / references are very valued in deviantArt society and this would be considered a very well done stock photo. That's why it got a DD.
They are basically licensed photos that can be used for practical uses (whether it be for anatomy or whatever) in art. What makes them different from just references is that you can only use them as directed by the artist/model. References can be used for just about anything (that is as far as my understanding goes for the subject!)
I agree, but I think the only reason people get flamed on DD opinions is because in the DA FAQ it says if you disagree with a DD being given do not comment about it. You can share your honest opinion every where EXCEPT for on a piece that got a DD if it isn't positive.
